THE QADISIYA COOPERATIVE: A JOINT PROJECT WITH THE SOUTH COMPANY FOR CONSTRUCTION AND DEVELOPMENT

Celebrating "KUNOUZ: The Treasures of Jordan" by incorporating beautifully coloured local stones, such as the green malachite, beige alabaster and pink granite which are sourced by the local communities from the desert of Southern Jordan. These pieces are then individually hand shaped by a cooperative of ladies in the village of Qadisiya, just north of Petra, in a workshop that we helped train and set up.

This stone project is supported by the South Company for Construction and Development, a company mandated by HM King Abdullah II to develop long term sustainable socio-economic projects in the south of the Kingdom, and creating job opportunities to the local communities. We are proud of our continued support to this programme and have aims for its further development.
